The kind of marble work we do most across Dubai, from a worn office lobby to a family villa with a few too many scratches. Each one covers the actual problem, what we did about it, and how it turned out.
Business Bay
Reviving a Tired Lobby Floor in a Business Bay Office Tower
The ground floor lobby and lift lobbies of a mid rise office tower in Business Bay had lost their shine after years of constant tenant and visitor traffic. The marble near the lift bank and reception desk showed clear traffic marks, and the building’s existing cleaning contractor was only mopping the surface, which left the floor looking flat under the lobby lighting rather than properly restored. Building management needed the work done without closing the lobby during business hours.
An on site inspection found the dullness was mostly worn surface seal and light traffic wear rather than deep damage, so a full grinding stage was not needed. Diamond polishing was carried out across the main lobby and each lift lobby floor, scheduled overnight across two sessions so tenants and visitors were never affected during the day. A crystallization finish was applied at the entrance and lift bank, the two areas that see the heaviest footfall, to help the shine hold up longer between visits.
The lobby returned to a high gloss mirror finish that reflects the lighting properly again, and every lift lobby on the building’s floors was completed within the same week. Building management reported that visitor feedback about the lobby’s appearance improved almost immediately, and a twice yearly maintenance polish has now been scheduled.
“We had tried a few cleaning companies before, and none of them actually fixed the dullness, they just mopped it. Marblux explained exactly why the floor looked the way it did and fixed it properly, overnight, without us having to close the lobby.”
Palm Jumeirah
Restoring a Sun Faded Pool Entrance Floor in Palm Jumeirah
Sophie Harrington’s villa on Palm Jumeirah is rented out to guests between her own family’s stays, and the marble floor just inside the pool entrance had turned visibly cloudy, with faint etched patches near the doors. Years of sunscreen, chlorinated pool water, and sand tracked in from the pool deck had taken their toll on that one stretch of floor, while the rest of the villa’s marble was only lightly worn by comparison.
The inspection confirmed the cloudiness and etching were concentrated almost entirely at the pool entrance and the few metres of hallway leading from it. Diamond polishing was applied to that zone first, followed by crystallization to harden the surface against future sunscreen and pool chemical exposure, since this floor would keep facing the same conditions. The rest of the living areas received a lighter polish and a fresh seal. The whole job was completed in a single day, scheduled during a gap between guest bookings.
The pool entrance floor came back to a clear, reflective finish with the etched patches fully gone, and the surrounding hallway now matches the rest of the villa’s shine. Given how often the villa changes guests, a maintenance clean every six months has now been booked specifically for that entrance area.
“Our villa gets a lot of use between our own visits and guest bookings, so that floor by the pool takes a beating. I didn’t think it could look new again without redoing the whole area, but it came back better than I expected, and in one day.”
Arabian Ranches
Bringing an Original Villa Floor Back to Life in Arabian Ranches
Aisha Al Suwaidi’s villa in Arabian Ranches is sixteen years old, with the original marble floors still in place throughout the main living areas. Years of garden and pool access had tracked sand in through the patio doors, leaving visible scratching across that stretch of floor, and two energetic family dogs had added scuff marks through the living room. The original factory sealant had also worn away long ago, leaving the whole floor looking duller than its actual condition.
The assessment showed the marble itself was in good structural condition, the dullness came mostly from worn sealant and surface level wear rather than anything deeper. Grinding and levelling addressed the scratched patio area specifically, while the rest of the living room only needed diamond polishing. A pet safe, family safe penetrating sealer was applied across the whole space to replace the original sealant that had failed over the years.
The original marble looked close to new without a single tile being replaced, and the scratching near the patio doors was no longer visible. The family was able to use the living room again the same day, once the final seal had cured.
“The floor is original to the house, so I assumed it had reached the end of its life. Finding out it just needed the right treatment, rather than replacing it, made a real difference, especially with the dogs and the garden.”
Al Wasl
Removing Moving Day Scratches From a Family Villa in Al Wasl
Khalid Al Mansoori’s family had just moved into a villa along Al Wasl Road, and the move itself left deep scratches across the main hallway where furniture had been dragged in before anyone realised the floor needed protecting. Separately, years of hard water had left the kitchen marble with a persistent cloudy film that no amount of mopping seemed to fix.
Two different problems needed two different treatments in the same visit. The hallway required grinding to physically remove the deep scratches before any polishing could begin, since the damage was too significant for polishing alone to fix. The kitchen, with no real scratching but heavy hard water buildup, went straight to diamond polishing followed by a crystallization finish, chosen to resist future mineral deposits given how often the kitchen floor gets mopped. The full job was completed across two consecutive days.
The hallway floor came back smooth and scratch free, matching the rest of the home’s marble, and the kitchen regained its clarity with no trace of the cloudy film that had built up over the years.
“We damaged the floor before we had even properly moved in, which wasn’t a great start. The team explained why the hallway needed grinding while the kitchen didn’t, fixed both in two days, and now it looks better than when we first saw the house.”
