Cost & Value

What does it cost, and is it worth doing

Prices generally range from AED 15 to AED 45 per square metre, depending on the floor’s condition. A light shine refresh for a slightly dull floor starts around AED 15 per square metre. Diamond polishing for scratched floors is typically AED 25 per square metre. Full restoration for deep scratches, uneven tiles, or heavy staining is around AED 45 per square metre. A standard apartment living room usually falls between AED 500 and AED 1,200 for a complete polish and seal. The exact price is confirmed after a free, in person inspection, and the average cost per square metre depends on floor area and marble type.

In most cases, yes. Dubai’s dust, hard water, and high foot traffic dull marble faster than in many other climates, and polishing restores the floor’s reflective surface without the cost or disruption of full replacement. It also protects the stone with a fresh seal, which slows down future staining and etching.

Yes, in almost every case. Polishing works with the marble already in place, so there is no cost for new material, removal of the old floor, or new installation. Replacement also closes the room or property for a much longer period, while polishing is usually completed in a day or two.

Well maintained marble floors are a visible feature that buyers and tenants notice, and a dull or scratched floor can make an otherwise good property look neglected. Overall property value depends on many factors, but restoring marble to its original shine is a low cost way to make a stronger impression during viewings.

Polishing Explained

What polishing actually involves

Marble polishing brightens and smooths a floor’s existing surface, typically where the marble is dull or lightly scratched but structurally sound. Marble restoration goes further, addressing deep scratches, cracks, chips, and uneven tiles through grinding and levelling before polishing begins. Polishing refreshes a healthy floor. Restoration repairs a damaged one.

Marble cleaning removes surface dirt, dust, and light staining using pH neutral products. It does not address scratches, etching, or dullness within the stone itself. Marble polishing uses diamond abrasives to remove a microscopic layer of damaged stone and restore reflectivity. Cleaning maintains a polished floor. Polishing restores a damaged one.

Polishing mechanically restores shine by grinding and buffing the stone’s surface. Crystallization is a chemical and mechanical process that hardens the surface layer, creating a denser, longer lasting mirror finish that resists hard water deposits and etching better than polishing alone. Many floors benefit from both, polishing first to correct the surface, then crystallization to lock in the finish.

If the floor is evenly dull with no deep scratches, chips, or uneven tiles, polishing alone is usually enough. If there is lippage between tiles, deep scratches, or stains that have etched into the stone, grinding is needed first to correct the surface before polishing can restore the shine. An in person inspection identifies which one your floor actually needs.

Marble does not use a topical polish the way furniture or shoes do. Professional marble polishing is a mechanical process using progressively finer diamond abrasive pads to refine the stone’s surface, finished with a penetrating sealer. Store bought marble polish sprays generally only add temporary shine on top of the stone and do not remove scratches, etching, or dullness within it.

Light cleaning and buffing with a soft cloth and a pH neutral cleaner is safe to do yourself and helps maintain shine between professional visits. Genuine polishing, including removing scratches or restoring a dull surface, requires diamond grinding and polishing equipment that is not available as a household product or polishing compound. Attempting this with a generic compound or polish spray usually produces a temporary, uneven result.

Marble Problems

Specific damage and what can be fixed

Yes. Diamond abrasive pads and progressive grinding remove most surface level and moderately deep scratches. Very deep scratches or chips may need filling before re polishing for a seamless result.

Yes, in most cases. Etching is light surface damage caused by acidic substances such as lemon juice, vinegar, or some cleaning products reacting with the stone. It is corrected by honing and polishing away the damaged layer, then resealing the surface.

Yes. Small cracks and chips can usually be filled and blended into the surrounding stone before the floor is re polished, so the repair is not visible. Larger structural cracks may need a tile replacement rather than a repair, which is assessed during inspection.

Yes. Hard water deposits sit on the surface as a cloudy film and are removed through stone safe cleaning and polishing. Once removed, a fresh sealer helps slow down how quickly the deposits return.

This is usually hard water deposits or mineral buildup sitting on the surface rather than actual dirt, which ordinary mopping cannot remove and can sometimes make worse. A professional clean with the correct products, followed by polishing if the dullness goes deeper than the surface, resolves it.

Vinegar is acidic and reacts with marble’s calcium content, causing etching. This leaves a dull, rough patch on the surface that does not wipe away, since it is chemical damage rather than dirt. Vinegar and other acidic natural cleaners should never be used on marble.

Yes. Even marble that has not been polished in many years or has lost most of its shine can usually be restored through grinding and polishing. Replacement is rarely necessary, regardless of how faded or worn the floor appears.

Maintenance & Frequency

Keeping the shine once it is restored

Most homes benefit from polishing every twelve to eighteen months, while busy commercial floors such as lobbies and retail units often need it every six to nine months due to higher foot traffic. A professional polish typically keeps its shine for around a year under normal residential use, with crystallization holding up somewhat longer.

A professional deep clean every three to six months helps remove mineral buildup and grime that regular mopping misses, extending the time between full polishing sessions.

Sweep or dust mop regularly to remove grit before it scratches the surface, use a pH neutral, stone safe cleaner for mopping, wipe up spills promptly, and avoid vinegar, lemon, or other acidic cleaning products. Felt pads under furniture legs also help prevent scratches.

Dubai Climate

How local conditions affect marble

Yes. Fine desert dust acts as a constant abrasive underfoot, and Dubai’s hard, mineral rich water speeds up cloudy buildup compared to softer water climates. Properties near the coast also deal with salt laden humidity, which can speed up etching. Together, these factors mean marble in Dubai generally needs attention somewhat sooner than the same floor would in a milder, drier climate.

Health & Safety

What the process means for your household or staff

Standard dry grinding can release fine marble dust into the air, which is not something you want to breathe in repeatedly. We use a dust controlled, wet polishing process specifically to keep airborne dust to a minimum, which is also why most jobs can be completed without clearing the property.

Yes. We use stone safe, pH neutral cleaning products rather than harsh chemicals, and our dust controlled process limits airborne particles during the work. Once the final seal has cured, typically within a few hours, the floor is safe for normal family and pet use.

Booking & Coverage

Getting started, and where we work

Most apartment living rooms or single rooms are completed within a day. Larger areas, full villas, or floors needing grinding and restoration may take two to three days, confirmed during the inspection based on the actual floor area and condition.

Yes. The dust controlled, wet polishing equipment we use is specifically suited to occupied properties, so residents or staff can usually remain on site during the work rather than vacating the space.

You can request a quote or book an inspection by phone or WhatsApp message, sharing your property type, floor area, and a few photos for an initial estimate. A technician then visits to confirm the condition and provide a fixed price before any work begins.

Look for a company that inspects the floor in person before quoting a fixed price, uses dust controlled equipment suitable for occupied properties, and provides a written condition report rather than a verbal estimate. Experience with the specific marble type and property category, whether residential, hotel, or retail, is also worth confirming before booking.

We work across Dubai, including Al Wasl, Palm Jumeirah, Downtown Dubai, Business Bay, Dubai Marina, Mirdif, Bluewaters Island, Arabian Ranches, and surrounding communities.

Yes. Alongside marble, we work with granite, terrazzo, limestone, and onyx, across floors, countertops, staircases, and tabletops in homes and commercial properties.
